River Valley United Way works to understand challenges affecting individuals and families, develops and deploys high-impact programs, provides support for those in crisis, and creates solutions designed to prevent future needs. We seek to permanently advance beyond mindsets, policies, and norms perpetuating systemic inequities and standing in the way of economic well-being.
We can't do this work alone. Investing in United Way helps ensure people in our community can access the care, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Since 1968, River Valley United Way has been dedicated to improving lives in the Arkansas River Valley. We bring together businesses, nonprofits, governments, and individuals to tackle the challenges facing our local communities. Together with our partners, we implement strategies that get lasting results.

How does United Way make change happen in our community? We:
- Listen to the community to learn what challenges our communities face.
- Work together to find strategies with the best chance of solving our most challenging problems.
- Turn those strategies into something concrete that people want to invest in with their dollars, time, and expertise.
- Use those resources wisely to achieve our common goals.
- Evaluate results to ensure progress and refine our strategies.
- Keep people in the loop by reporting back, listening to what they have to say, and gaining ever-greater knowledge of our community
