Havana Nights Fundraiser Success!

On the balmy evening of June 7th, Meadow on the Mountain transformed into a vibrant celebration of generosity and community spirit as the River Valley United Way hosted its highly anticipated fundraiser, Havana Nights. This annual event, made possible by the continued support of its sponsors, shone brightly with the theme of Cuban flair and charitable goodwill.

The was presented by the generous backing of Legends Resort & Casino Arkansas, as the Presenting Sponsor, underscoring their commitment to local philanthropy. Major Sponsors CHESCO Inc., Centennial Bank, and Entergy ANO each played a crucial role in ensuring the event's success. Other sponsors included Rockline Industries, First State Bank, Kirby, Johnson County Helping Hands, and Funky Junky Rentals.

Against the backdrop of rolling hills and starlit skies, guests immersed themselves in the festive ambiance reminiscent of Havana's colorful streets. Live music alfresco, provided by Studios Galvez, infused the air with rhythmic melodies that transported attendees to the heart of Cuba. Accompanying this cultural experience was the delicious Cuban cuisine crafted by Dover Market Catering, tantalizing taste buds with authentic flavors throughout the night.

The fundraiser featured various engaging activities, including casino game tables where guests tried their luck at blackjack, roulette, and poker, adding an exciting element of playful competition to the evening. Players exchanged their winnings for prize drawing tickets, hoping to win their prize of choice.

Attendees mingled and connected, fostering new relationships united in support for the River Valley United Way's mission.

Adding to the allure of the event were exquisite items featured in the silent auction, many generously donated by local businesses such as Gifts on Parkway, Joshua's Fine Jewelry, Kitchen Essentials, Lee Ann's Fine Jewelry, and Latasha Hendrix LLC. These coveted items garnered spirited bidding wars and symbolized the community's commitment to supporting those in need.

In a resounding testament to community generosity, Havana Nights raised an impressive $8,500 to support the River Valley United Way's initiatives.  "We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, donors, and volunteers whose generosity and enthusiasm made Havana Nights an outstanding success," remarked Micki Estep, River Valley United Way Board of Directors. "Their contributions empower us to continue serving those most in need throughout our community."
